Bole Dist Assembly Votes ¢4.4b For Project

THE Bole District Assembly has initiated projects valued ¢4.480 billion to improve upon the lifestyle of the people. The projects include construction of school blocks, staff quarters, market stalls, court halls, guest houses, bungalows and provision of potable water to offset part of the acute water problem facing the people.
Ms Elizabeth Salamatu Forgor, the DCE, announced this on Thursday when addressing the Assembly at its third session at Bole. She identified the projects under HIPC fund as including the construction of two three-unit classroom blocks at Kiape and Nuoyiri, and two others at ¢249 million each, three-unit classrooms block at Bole, and Changbalanyiri, all valued at ¢790 million. She said that the assembly had completed 12 other projects including the rehabilitation of its (Assembly) guest house at Bole at cost of ¢60 million , a District Magistrate’s Court Hall at ¢240 million and an agricultural office at ¢51 million . Others, she said, included the rehabilitation of a ¢31-million junior staff quarters, two bungalows at a total cost of ¢21 million and the construction of a urinal at the Bole market at ¢30 million. The rest are 20 market stalls at Bamboi valued at ¢80 million, another 10 market stalls also valued at a ¢40 million and one iron container safe at ¢49 million for Bole Rural Bank. Mr Forgor further disclosed that, the Assembly had also completed the construction of three other projects under the District Wide Assistance Programme (DWAP), project which included three-unit classroom block at Kparibayiri, a Police Station block and supply of furniture of 600 dual-desks to schools throughout the two districts all valued at ¢1.347 billion. source: times
