The World Vision International (WVI) office in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region has presented 873 books worth several millions of cedis to the Bolgatanga Regional Library.

The books, which were on various subjects, were meant to help pupils, junior and secondary school students in their academic pursuits and also to equip them to develop the habit of reading. Mr John Ayeseya, Acting Regional Librarian of the Upper East Regional Library Board disclosed this to the GNA in an interview on Friday at Bolgatanga.

He commended the NGO for the kind gesture rendered to the library and appealed to them to continue to assist the library. Mr Ayeseya appealed to the headquarters of the Library Board to provide the Region with means of transport to enable the staff to embark on periodic inspections of the various branches in the Region.
