The Nanumba Youth Association (NAYA) on Tuesday appealed to President John Agyekum Kufuor and Vice President Aliu Mahama to personally intervene in the development of the three Northern Regions.
"We need the President's Special Initiatives (PSI) on Education, Shea Butter, Sorghum, Cowpeas and Cotton to pave the way for the socio-economic development and empowerment of the people," NAYA said in a press statement signed by Dr Hafez A. Taher.

The statement also appealed to the President to accelerate the efforts in finding lasting solutions to the numerous chieftaincy disputes in the area.

NAYA congratulated the President, Vice President, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on their electoral victory in the December polls and commended the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other minority parties for conceding defeat.
