President Akufo-Addo Appeals To Dagbon To Solve Dispute Amicably

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to the people of Dagbon to resolve amicable their differences and enskin a new a Yaana by the end of December.
He said resolving the conflict in Dagbon is high on the agenda of government and will support any road map agreed on by the Eminent Chiefs to that effect.
President Akufo-Addo said this when a delegation from the Gonjaland led by the Overlord, Tun Tumba Yagbong Wura Borsesa Sulemana Yakpa on Friday called on him at the presidency in Accra.
The visit is by the Chiefs of the Gonjaland was to congratulate President Akufo Addo on his landslide victory in the December polls.
The visit also afforded the people of the Gonjaland to put across pertinent issues after them.
Top on the agenda is education, health and carving out a new region from the north.
The Chiefs appealed to the President to establish two colleges of education in Gonja.
The Lepuwura MMD Jawula spoke on behalf of the Overlord of Gonja Tutumba Yegbon Wura.
President Akufo-Addo was grateful to the Chiefs for the visit.
He said the appeal by the chiefs for colleges of education will be given high priority.
On the creation of anew region, President Akufo-Addo announced the process for the establishment has begun.
He said he is in the process of instituting a Commission of Enquiry to look into petitions for the creation of the new regions.
He asked the Chiefs to support his government in this endeavor.
President Akufo-Addo noted that call the promises he made during the 2016 elections were not to gain votes but to bring progress and pros[perity to Ghanaians.
He was optimistic that he will homour them.
On the Conflicts in Dagbon, Presdient Akufo Addo appealed to the Chiefs to find solution by the end of the year.
The Chiefs later presented a petition to President Akufo-Addo on the creation of new region out of the Northern region.
