Tamale Hospital
The Tamale Youth Home Cultural Group, an affiliate of the National Youth Authority (NYA) has donated dental and surgical equipment to the Dental Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to enhance effective delivery of service to patients.

The equipment, valued at GH¢52,000, was a donation from partners of the Tamale Youth Home Cultural Group based in Denmark.

They included 11 orthopaedic aid, 10 mattresses, seven wheel chairs, three drip stands, a dental chair, a trolley and an incubator.

Mr Ziblim Shaibu, Northern Regional Coordinator of the NYA handed over the equipment on behalf of the Tamale Youth Home Cultural Group to Dr Ken Sagoe, Chief Executive Officer of the TTH, at its premises in Tamale on Tuesday.

Mr Shaibu said the Tamale Youth Home Cultural Group, upon a visit to the Dental Unit, realised that it lacked some equipment and hence its appeal to partners in Denmark for assistance.

He expressed the hope that the equipment would bring relief to patients at the Dental Unit.

Dr Sagoe thanked the group for the donation and called on others to emulate the gesture to respond to basic needs of society.

He said the equipment had come at the right time, adding, it would help the TTH to make a case for additional dentists to be posted to the Dental Unit, which currently had only one dentist.

He assured that the equipment would be handled professionally as well as put to good use to the benefit of society.
