World Food Programme (WFP) has teamed up with the Karaga District Assembly to rehabilitate about 7 dams located in various areas of the district. The move is strategically geared towards harnessing irrigation facilities that could be used profitably to improve agriculture production in the farming communities.

Briefing on the project, the District Chief Executive for the area, Sulemana Hussein Issah indicated that five communities were considered to benefit from the programme.

They include Konoayili, Nyengali, Naduli Sung and Nyong respectively.

Meanwhile as part of measures to create accessibility to primary healthcare in the area, the Assembly is constructing a Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centre at Konoayili.

The DCE has therefore assured that the ongoing project which is currently at roofing level will be completed soon to afford inhabitants the opportunity to get a primary health post in the area.

He said the project is captured under the Ghana Social Opportunity Project (GSOP).
