Armed military and police personnel are said to have been deployed to the BON-LANA palace in Yendi in the Northern Region.

The move is intended to forestall any clashes as Abudus plan to enskin a ruler today, Sunday, March 25, 2012 in one of its traditional areas.

The Abudus had earlier warned this week that they would enskin a chief Sunday morning.

Assemblyman for Balogu North in the Yendi Municipal Assembly, Mumuni Mohammed Shaban told Joy News in the afternoon that the atmosphere in the area was “very tensed”.

The ongoing nationwide biometric registration exercise, he said, has been halted in some centres in the Yendi municipality.

This has also affected the market day in Yendi as some traders abandon business for fear of being attacked in case of clashes.
