Tamale Hospital
The Minister of Health, Mr. Alban Bagbin, over the weekend commissioned two mobile clinic vans for the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to extend general healthcare services to deprived communities.

The mobile vans, which are the first of its kind in the country, were donated to the hospital through the Ministry of Health by the Korean Foundation for International Healthcare at the cost of 500,000 US dollars.

The vans are in-built with equipment such as; digital X-ray, digital ultrasonography, autoclave refrigerator, electrocardiography, gluoosemeter, hernoglobinometer, malaria test, Hb A1c meter and among others.

Mr. Bagbin, who earlier on signed an MOU with the organization on behalf of the Government, said the vans were fully equipped with all the needed equipment to provide micro interventions that would improve healthcare delivery by making it more accessible to the people.

Dr. Ken Sagoe, the Chief Executive Officer, (TTH), who received the keys to the vans expressed gratitude for the facilities and promised to put them into good use for the benefit of the people.

Madam Kim Eun Jung, Senior Deputy Manager, Medical Resources Centre of the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, told the GNA on the sideline that the vans were part of international humanitarian services initiated by Dr Lee Jong-wook, a former Director General of World Health Organisation (WHO).

She said as part of the MOU, the Korean partners would also train some Ghanaian personnel and assist in the technical operation of the mobile vans for some few months before leaving them to the care of Ghanaians specialists.
