A toilet facility needs to be provided urgently for residents of Daboya East electoral area in West Gonja District to avert the outbreak of diseases due to indiscriminate defecation by the inhabitants.

In an interview with Ghanadistrict.com, the Assembly man for Daboya East, Jamani Hudu bemoaned the lack of toilet facility in the area which he described as very disturbing, as most of the over five thousand residents either defecates in poly bags and throw them about or visit toilet facilities far from the area.

He was confident that the construction of toilet facilities in the area would to a large extent improve the poor state of sanitation in the area as residents would stop throwing waste about anywhere in the open.

Jamani Hudu also appealed to the assembly to provide the area with more classrooms to enable school children have quality education noting that classrooms are always congested with as much as seventy pupils sometimes sandwiched in one class.

He added that the inadequate classrooms do not allow promotion as should be the case since children who need to be promoted to the next class end up sitting under trees to be taught.
