As education continues to be the bedrock for development in every community, the assembly member for Nayilifo in the Tolon Kumbugu district, Fatima Iddrisu Abu, is still ensuring that basic schools in her area get a fair share of educational facilities to enhance teaching and learning in the area.
In this light, she has made a call to the authorities to provide a library for the town to enhance the continuation of the learning process after school session has ended.
She said the absence of the facility has brought a huge gab in the learning chain, leaving children with no option than to loiter about after school or during holidays.
The government appointee for the area also expressed worry about the number of Junior High Schools JHS in the district which stands at only two saying it has contributed to the lowering of education standards in the area.
“Most parents have no fund to continue their wards education outside the town hence the need to provide such facilities at Nayilifo to enable the children have JHS education right from the primary schools to properly set them up for Senior High School SHS,” she observed.
Madam Fatima warned that if the situation persists, posterity will judge the stake holders of education in the district for not ensuring the development of the sector for the benefit of the town.
