Teaching and learning at the Nyili primary school in the Tolon Kumbugu District of the Northern Region has received a major boost following the construction of a 3 Unit classroom block for the town.
Commuting in the vicinity would also be enhanced following the construction of a 5km stretch of road that runs through the town linking other communities. Both projects and many more have been undertaken by the assembly.
The assembly member for the area Mumuni Alhassan revealed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts. He said school attendance among children has improved since the new structure was put up.
Parents no long take their wards out of the community to other schools rather surrounding communities patronize the facility in their numbers”, he noted.
He however stated that sanitation is in a sorry state, making the vicinity prone to diseases, hence measures ought to be in place to reverse the trend.
“I intend emphasizing the need for the residents to adapt responsible lifestyles so as to sanitize their environment,” he intimated in the said interview.
Mr. Alhassan stated that he has on countless occasions impressed on the assembly to provide a new place of convenience for the community but such calls are yet to receive any positive response.
Like most of the electoral areas in the district, electricity supply falls far below the expected levels a situation that has compelled businesses in the area that rely on electric power to operate below capacity.
