Assembly facilitates farmers in modern aspects of Agric

The Sissala East District Assembly, through its Agriculture development programme has extended training to various farmers in the district, on Animal feeding, treatment and other related activities in Agriculture.

The move would help these farmers adapt to modern aspects of farming, to boost their production in the district.

In an interview with, the District Chief Executive of the Sissala East District Assembly, Sulemana Alijata Gbentie disclosed that some of these fortunate farmers were schooled in very crucial areas like Farmer field implementation on cowpea production technology.

She intimated that the Assembly was committed to enhancing the development of Agriculture in the district, in view of this, it would continuously develop programmes and policies to achieve this goal.

The DCE further indicated that in Block Farming for instance, about 925 hectares of maize, as well as 97.2 hectares of soya bean were cultivated by 1,446 farmers in the Sissala East district.

Miss Sulemana Gbentie however noted that through the “Better Ghana Agenda” the Assembly would considerably push the development agenda of the district in all the sectors of the economy.
