Plans are far advanced to provide health relief to the people of the Nadowli district, as a US$200,000 project facility to expand the Nadowli District Hospital has been commenced.
This Project undertaken would go a long way to ameliorate the congestion that occur in the hospital as the hospital is a referral centre which admit various cases from all points of the district.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Abu Kansangabata disclosed that a team of Inspectors with technical expertise are visiting the site today to embark on a Pre-evaluation and Monitoring exercise.
He claimed the structures and facilities available to the hospital were inadequate, thereby it became very imperative to negotiate with the Chinese government to intervene and help salvage the sorry situation at the hospital.
He noted that these unfavourable conditions which have existed in the hospital over the period, demanded a prompt attention to it as patients with even communicable diseases were lying close to each other, a situation he described as appalling.
Mr. Kansangabata further stressed that there is the need to undertake major infrastructural expansion in the hospital, as the facilities at the hospital do not commensurate with the clients that visit the facility to access health care.
According to him, the Assembly would still be committed to ensuring that the people of the district receive the best with regards to improved health delivery in the area.
