Assembly motivates Medical Doctor

The Sissala East District Assembly has urged on the lone Medical Doctor of the Tumu District Hospital, Dr. Bukari Zakaria by increasing his motivational allowance from GH¢500 to GH¢1,000.

The Assembly has also decided to furnish his official residence with a DSTV along with other facilities and also provide a security fenced wall at his residence to complement his motivational package.

In an interview with, the District Chief Executive of the area,Ms Sulemana Gbentie Alijata revealed that Dr. Zakaria has worked at the Tumu District hospital as the only Medical officer more than 5 years.

She said Dr. Zakaria is multi-tasked with a barrage of duties at the hospital, as he takes care of surgery, consultation and administrative responsibilities as well.

Ms Sulemana Gbentie however commended the Medical officer, for his commitment and efforts at the hospital, considering the undue stress he might have encountered in managing the sorry situation at the hospital.

She was optimistic that the motivational package offered him by the assembly will go a long way to boost his work input and efforts at the hospital.

She therefore called on other medical officers in the country to come and assist the hospital in giving the people of the area and its environs the best medical care.
