“Some 20 Sissala c’nities would be electrified”-DCE

The District Chief Executive for the Sissala East District in the Upper West Region ,Sulemana Gbentie Alijata has re- echoed that some 20 communities in the Sissala East District are fortunate to be connected to the national electricity grid.

She revealed that plans are afoot to electrify some communities like Wuru, Kwapun, Bana,Pina,Pieng Challu,Kasanpuri, Sentie, Kasana, Naverowie,Fachuboi among others.

In an interview with to highlight this development,Ms Sulemana revealed that this Project would be captured under the Self Help Electrification Project(SHEP).

She also claimed that with the help of a Chinese firm some street lights have been provided for the district capital, thus Tumu and other surrounding communities in the district.

She stated that the Assembly was yearning to provide infrastructural development across board, reflective in areas such as Health, Education, Agriculture, and Road construction.

She for instance said, under the District Capital Road Improvement Project (DCRIP), the Tumu township roads have been constructed. This project she disclosed ,was being anchored by a Japanese company on a pilot base.

She was also quick to add that massive developments have happened with respect to education, including Circuit supervisors quarters built for teachers in the area as well as sponsorship package to the tune of GH¢30,000 offered to various students in the district.

Ms Sulemana Gbentie was therefore optimistic that under the “Better Ghana Agenda” the livelihood of her people in the district would be improved gradually.
