The assembly member for Wamale, in the Tamale Metropolitan Area, Ibrahim Abudu has hinted that , he is making conscious effort to network School Management committees(SMC’s) and the Parents Teacher Association(P.T.A) to provide quality education in the area.

This he said will go a long way to better the lots of school children in the area and also serve as a support system to monitor the performance of the educational actors in his jurisdiction.

In an interview with,Mr Abudu suggested that the core objective of this move was to bring together the assembly and WUNIZALIG development association, a non governmental organization (NGO) in the area to provide sensitization programmes and forums to them.

He indicated that, a research carried out by the NGO code-named Research Social engagement tool, stressed the fallen standard of Education in the area.

According to him the report attributed this problem to lateness, absenteeism and low dedication on the part of some teachers in the area. “Most of them are not doing their work well and so it behoves on us to monitor them and keep them on their toes” he said.

Mr. Abudu said the assembly in conjunction with WUNIZALIG development association will in a short term institute an educational Trust Fund to solicit funds in supporting education in the area.
