The Wa East District Chief Executive, Mr. Ameen Salifu, has distributed free school uniforms to 48 pupils of Kataa L/A Primary and Junior High School (JHS) at Kataa in the Wa East District.

He said the distribution of the free school uniforms and exercise books was non-partisan and appealed the pupils to take their studies serious. Mr Salifu advised them against travelling down south to engage in “Kayaye” or “Gallamsey”, saying doing so would ruin their future.

Mr. Salifu appealed to parents not to force their children into early marriage especially the girl child and told the pupils to report their parents or any person who wanted to force them into early marriage.

Madam Dominica Dasaah, the Wa East District Director of Education, thanked the government for the numerous educational interventions and noted that they were helping to increase the quality of education as well as school enrolment in the district.
