Alhaji Yakubu Ayana, a Hajj agent in the Tamale Metropolis, has appealed to the Hajj Board to release the monies of pilgrims who could not perform this year’s Hajj to their agents to enable them refund such monies to them.

He said about 102 pilgrims of his who could not perform the Hajj had been demanding a refund of their monies which is with the Hajj Board.

Alhaji Ayana said at a press conference on Tuesday that he had written to the Hajj Board for the refund but the Board said an injunction had been placed on the monies.

He said Hajj Board owed him 316,000 dollars and appealed to the National Chief Imam and the government to intervene on his behalf for the Board to release the money to him.

Alhaji Ayana said if the Board failed to release the money to him by the end of January next year he would take the matter to court.
