Residents living at Nankpanduri in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo District of the Upper East Region claim they are under siege as police officers have invaded the town in search of a fugitive, Johnson Kombian.

According to residents, the police are brutalising them and raiding their homes and offices in order to smoke out Kombian.

Speaking on an Accra based radio station, an official from the Police confirmed that the police are on a special operation to arrest Johnson Kombian, adding that the police were doing it in a peaceful manner without terriorizing residents of the town.

It can be recalled that on Sunday, October 17, the fugitive, Johnson Kombian ambushed policemen on patrol at Nakpanduri in the Bunkpurugu Yunyoo, killing two police personnel and injuring the others.
