Accident victims laid to rest

Twenty-seven of the accident victims who perished in a fatal accident at Zagyuri have been laid to rest at the Tamale Central Cemetery yesterday Sunday, September 19.

Only one of the deceased, a chief was taken to his village for burial in line with the customs and traditions of the area. Sympathizers bid the deceased farewell as they were laid to join their ancestors.


The unfortunate incident occurred when the victims were travelling from Zogu in the Savelugu Nanton district to Tamale for a funeral.

Some relatives of the dead have called for the Ghana Police Service in collaboration with the Ghana Road Safety Commission to ban the use of such commercial vehicles that are meant for carrying goods from carrying people.

The driver of the vehicle who reported to the police escaped unhurt.
