Hon Mutawakilu Adam, West Gonja District Chief Executive has disclosed that feasibility studies have been completed for work to commence on the installation of streetlights in the Daboya township.
The move according to him is aimed at giving Daboya and other major towns in the district a facelift.
Hon Mutawakilu disclosed that ten (10) seater KVIP has been constructed to improve sanitation in the town whilst a three unit class room block, four seater KVIP, urinal, office and store for Talabiate primary school to be used as a centre for West African Examination Council Examination Centre are under construction.
The DCE mentioned that the Assembly has also ensured that the police personel are posted to occupay the newly constructed police post constructed by the District Assembly in the Daboya township.
He also revealed that preparation of layouts for all major settlements in the district including Daboya township, adding officials of the Department of Town and Country Planning will soon take up the task.
The Daboya-Tari No.2 road according to Hon Mutawakilu has been engineed and awaiting rehalbitation whilst the Busunu-Daboya road including the Tarchale bridge would also be re-awarded for construction this year.
He said the assembly will do all it can to raise standard at the Daboya Smock Weaving Heritage centre to make it comparable in competitive terms to some of the best renowned Kente weaving centre in the south of Ghana and tasked the people of Daboya area to support and
cooperate with the assembly to achieve this objective.
