Two persons sustained severe gunshot wounds following a shoot-out between two rival factions of the Kpembe Traditional Area in Salaga of Gonjaland in the Northern Region.
The Sunday August 8 incident was as a result of disagreements over the rightful owner to the Chawura skin. The sporadic gun shots left two persons injured who are receiving treatment at the Salaga District Hospital.
Peace loving residents of Kpembe who were scared by the incident fled the area to seek refuge in other satellite communities in the area.
Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh, Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command said security has been beefed up in Kpembe and that the situation has been brought under control.
The Regional Police PRO disclosed that more personnel have been dispatched to the area to maintain law and order.
