Three persons suspected to be the owners and identified as Jacob Kolan 39, Goori Duut, 30, Seidu Larri, 25 and the driver Ibrahim Abdala, 35 have been arrested.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh told the Ghana News Agency that the police received intelligence information that the 60-seater vehicle was carrying ammunitions.

He said when the vehicle got to Fulfuso barrier at about 0400 hours, it was impounded by the police personnel after a search unveiled the ammunitions.

Chief Inspector Tetteh said the four persons are being investigated and would be put before court if found culpable.

He warned drivers and people who have the intention to import weapons to any part of the North to desist from such acts because their activities would not elude the widely awake police.
