The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bawku West in the Upper East Region, Hon. Moro Adams Anaba, has advised the youth in the country to prepare adequately to take up the mantle of leadership in future.
The DCE, who gave the advice, when he addressed the Youth of the Assemblies of God Church at Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East region, said there was the need for the Youth to focus more on their education, be dedicated and well behaved to provide more purposeful and visionary leadership in future.
He charged the youth to galvanize their energies into useful ventures that would enable them to take their rightful positions at all levels of national development in future, instead of allowing themselves to be used as agents for conflicts.
The DCE entreated the youth in the area to stop migrating to the south in search of jobs and that they should take advantage of the new programmes government intends to introduce, including the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and the Northern Rural Growth Project (NRGP).
Hon. Anaba explained that the programmes, which would bring development to the three Northern Regions, would also provide an enabling environment for the private sector and civil society to accelerate development and also enhance income as well as providing employment to the Youth.
The DCE donated a generator worth GHC400.00 to the Assemblies of God Church to facilitate their religious activities.
The Pastor of the Church, Joseph Asana, expressed his gratitude to the DCE for the item and pledged to put it into good use. He however appealed for means of transportation to facilitate their outreach programmes.
