The refusal of medical doctors and other health professionals to the Upper East Region is creating serious challenges for the Ministry of Health. This worrying trend is making the few doctors and other staffs overwork themselves.
The Regional Director of health service, Dr. Koku Awoonar-Williams told Radio Ghana that each district hospital now has one Ghanaian doctor at post who attends to several thousands of patients.
In addition other specialized staffs are aging and will soon retire and will need replacement.
