The Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. George Hikah Benson, presented nine new buses provided by the government to nine senior high schools in the region.

The beneficiary schools are Wa Senior High School, Wa Islamic, Kaleo, Wa TI Ahmadiyya, Daffiama, Jirapa, Lawra, Eremon and Kauton Senior High Schools.

Presenting the keys of the vehicles to the headmasters of the schools at a brief ceremony at the Regional Coordinating Council, Mr Benson said the provision of the buses was another clear manifestation of government’s commitment to improving conditions in educational institutions.

He said the buses should go a long way to solve the transportation difficulties facing the schools.

The Regional Minister urged the headmasters to take good care of the vehicles so that they could have a longer lifespan.

The Upper West Regional Director of Education, Mr. Cletus Paaga, who spoke on behalf of the headmasters, thanked the government for providing the buses and promised to ensure that the buses were properly maintained.
