Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Lawra/Nandom Constituency, Mr. Bede Ziendeng, has appealed to leaders of political parties and their supporters to preach peace in their campaign messages to the electorate to make this year’s elections the best of all elections in the history of the country.
He said some people have perceived politics to be a dirty game and was doing all sort of things to mar the beauty of it in order to achieve their selfish interests and urged Ghanaians to discard that notion and make the elections the best elections ever conducted in the country for other countries to emulate.
Mr Ziendeng was addressing the 278 delegates at the Lawra/Nandom Delegates Conference of the DFP that confirmed him as the sole candidate to contest the elections on the ticket of the DFP in the constituency’
He said the DFP expected all political parties to preach peace and love to the electorate and show commitment to keep the people in the country together in unity and harmony during and after the elections.
“We must all avoid insults; intimidations and character assassination but base our campaign messages on issues as well as spell out our visions and missions to the people in a decent manner to make them to make a better choice for the country”, he said.
Constituency Chairman of the DFP, Mr. Mohammed Ganda, called for unity among supporters of the party and urged them to work hard to win the seat for the DFP.
In solidarity messages, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Convention Peoples Party (CPP) called for peaceful elections for development and progress of the people.
