The Old Vandals’ Association (OVA), Upper East Regional chapter, has suggested to the government to establish a peace committee, to collate relevant views from all affected individuals or groups, at Bawku, as a database of grievances and suggestions. This could help arrive at restoring peace in the area.

At a press conference in Bolgatanga, the branch president of OVA, Dr. Francis Asaana, commended the government for its efforts at curbing the violence.

He appealed to the youth, chiefs, and opinion leaders in the Bawku Municipality and its environs, to appreciate the numerous efforts made by government to restore peace to the area, by lying down their arms.

Ten plastic chairs each, were presented to Dr. Asaana, and one other doctor, who lost all their belongings in the conflict.
