Mr Cockra Huseni Abdul-Baba, Headmaster of Dagbon State Senior High Technical School, has commended the Yendi Municipal Assembly for providing the school with hostel facilities, teachers’ quarters and classroom blocks.

He also commended the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for constructing two bathrooms and rehabilitating the school’s blackboards at the cost of GH¢3,000.

Mr Abdul-Baba made the commendation at a general meeting of the school’s PTA in Yendi.

He said in 2006 the school scored 88 percent in the West African Senior Secondary Examination Certificate (WASSEC) final exams and later 94 percent in the 2007.

He announced that the school would soon launch a newsletter, "Lion Magazine," which would be dedicated to the promotion of peace in Dagbon.

Mr Abdul-Baba appealed to parents, who were indebted to the school to pay up.

He also appealed to philanthropists to help the school to construct more classrooms and acquire a vehicle.
