The late Mr Daboh and the wife, Mrs Musah, were celebrating the birth of their first and new-born child when the unexpected happened to them on January 4, this year.

An eyewitness who gave his name as Mr Atanga, told the Daily Graphic that the fire outbreak was believed to have been caused by a candle light around 11.15 p.m. that burnt a gallon of kerosene.

exploded and burnt the whole room, including the victims.

When the Daily Graphic contacted the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Officer, D.O.2 Dominic Denku, he confirmed the incident and said his officers at post that night received a distress call at exactly 11.25 p.m. from a resident of Damion and they rushed to the scene.

He said a neighbour who heard the cry of the late Mr Musah, rushed to the scene and forced the door open, and managed to rescue the woman.

According to Mr Denku, by that time, the baby and the late Daboh had been severely burnt to death.

A co-tenant of the victims who spoke to the Daily Graphic on condition of anonymity, said the deceased and his wife in the company of their friends, relatives and neighbours, celebrated the birth of their one-month-old baby on that day and rejoiced into the late evening until they met their demise through the fire accident.
