An eyewitness who gave his name as Mr Atanga, told the Daily Graphic that the fire outbreak was believed to have been caused by a candle light around 11.15 p.m. that burnt a gallon of kerosene.

exploded and burnt the whole room, including the victims.

When the Daily Graphic contacted the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Officer, D.O.2 Dominic Denku, he confirmed the incident and said his officers at post that night received a distress call at exactly 11.25 p.m. from a resident of Damion and they rushed to the scene.
