Bank has taken another major stride in its operations by expanding its unique financial services to the Northern sector of the county to help create wealth and a better life for the people.

At a colourful and well attended opening ceremony yesterday, the Central Market area of Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, officially became the location of the eleventh (11th) branch of HFC Bank.

In his welcome address, the Managing Director, Mr. Asare Akuffo, announced HFC's appointment by Government as the manager of the Public Sector Employees Housing Scheme.

The appointment which was effective last November, puts HFC Bank, in partnership with the Government of Ghana, to provide relatively cheaper mortgage facilities to various public sector workers across the country.

Mr. Akuffo gave the assurance that with the Bank's presence in Tamale, public servants in the Metropolis who qualify are sure to benefit from this important scheme.

He said the Tamale Branch of HFC Bank, will be providing a One-Stop Shop of financial services. These include Mortgage Finance, through Commercial Banking, Micro Business Finance, Micro Housing Finance, and SME Banking.

The rest are Stock Brokerage, Asset Management and Funds Management.

"None of our competitors provide such a broad range of financial service," Mr. Akuffo noted adding that the range of diversified financial services for customers of HFC Bank is what gives HFC the unique identity of a truly Universal Banking institution and makes it stand out among other commercial banks.

HFC Bank started as Home Finance Company, a mortgage finance institution, in 1990 and assumed a Universal Banking status in 2003.

Over the years, the Bank has positioned itself as a major player in the Ghanaian Banking industry and is still committed to further improving upon its performance and consolidating its position in the banking industry with a view to making an even greater impact on the economy of Ghana.

"HFC Bank is ready to expand its operations in a very big way to match the current industry requirements. More branches would be opened to bring the bank to the doorsteps of the banking public."

Official records show that the Branch expansion programme of HFC Bank has yielded positive dividends over the years.

Deposits and total assets have grown by more than sixty percent (60%) per annum over the past two years.

Explaining the choice of Tamale, Mr. Akuffo said as the capital of a metropolis, Tamale serves as the political, economic and financial seat of the region with a sphere of influence going beyond the two Upper Regions to neighbouring countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali and Togo."

Attendants to the opening ceremony commended HFC Bank for another enviable milestone.
