The Bawku Municipal Assembly has pledged a 600 million cedis seed money for the construction of a new ward to expand the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital.
Abdul Rahaman Gumah, Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, made the pledge on the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Presbyterian Health Service , under the theme, “50 years of collaborative health care delivery; the way forward”.
He noted that the Presbyterian Hospital in Bawku had since its inception rendered quality health service to people from varied backgrounds hence the need to support it improve upon its services.
Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, in his goodwill message commended the church for serving the people of the area without discrimination.
He expressed their willingness to support health institutions in the area with the needed assistance to expand their human resource base as a means of boosting their operations to meet the health needs of the people of the area without discrimination.
The MP also pledged 25 million cedis from their District Assembly Common Fund as their contribution towards the construction of a jubilee block and other facilities.
