Alhaji Yusif Gives to NDF for Flood Victims

Barely 10 days old and the Northern Development Fund (NDF) has started receiving the serious attention of philanthropists.

Established after a September 30 meeting of Northerners in the Accra-Tema area had decided to raise funds to aid their compatriots in the flood afflicted areas of the three northern regions, the Fund on its first day received pledges and donations of over one hundred and fifty million old Ghana cedis.

Last Friday it was boosted by the donation of another thirty million old Ghana Cedis from Alhaji Yusif Ibrahim. Alhaji Ibrahim, a well known philanthropist is the Chairman of the Dar es Salam Group of Companies and the GT Bank. This year he was among a number of distinguished Ghanaians to receive the nation's highest honours.
