DIAKONIA, a Swedish non governmental organization in collaboration with Suhiyini Drama Group has developed a peace drama series to be staged at various communities across Dagbon. The drama series is facilitated by Assemblies of God Relief and Development Servicee( AGREDS), Ghana an NGO who’s prime objective is to improve the socio-cultural lifestyle of the people.

Launching the drama series at the Dakpema Palace, the programmes manager of AGREDS Mr. Ibrahim Dokurugu said, peace is development; having peace is an assurance of progressive development and conflict only retards and worsens life. Mr. Ibrahim thanked DIAKONIA for sponsoring the programme and hoped that their effort to bring a lasting peace to Dagbon would soon come to reality.

Mba Sanda, a leading member of the Suhiyini drama group said the drama seeks to depict the true socio-cultural life style of Dadombas and expressed delight at the number of people who turned out to watch the drama since they saw the outcome of conflict and war on women and children in particular.

The programme manager, Mr. Alfa Martin said the drama series would also take place at all the communities in Tamale including, Savelugu, Gushiegu, Yendi, Kumbungu and some other villages in Dagbon comprising both Abudus and Andanis. He urged other corporate bodies to join the campaign to imprint the need for peaceful co-existence.
