Members of the Talensi-Nabdam District Assembly have appealed to the Upper East Regional Minister to release without further delay the report of the committee which investigated the communal violence among the youth of Tongo-Beo, Gonno and Torsia in 2004.

The release of the report, they contended, will put to rest the nagging issue which still constitutes a major threat to security in their district.

The members raised this concern at the second ordinary meeting of the assembly at Tongo.

According to them if this remains unsettled the people of the affected communities will not feel safe to go about their farming activities as the rains set in.

Mr. Sabastian Bisnab Tibil, the District Chief Executive, said the assembly spends ¢1 million daily on security personnel who patrol the communities.

He urged the assembly members to appeal to the people to be tolerant.
