Women Activists Hold Forum At Tamale

Some of the participants at the 16th Anniversary of the 16 days of Activities Against Gender Violence interacting after the opening ceremony at Tamale in the Northern Region.

The programme, under the theme "Advance Human Rights and Gender Violence," was to highlight the plight of women and discuss the way forward.

Alhaji Mustapha Idris, Northern Regional Minister, in an address, said that the Millennium Development Goals would not be achieved if violence continue to be meted out to women.

He called on all agencies to be active in the fight for the liberation of women.
