The Concerned Citizens Association of Tamale (CCAT) has entreated the newly confirmed Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mohammed Adam Amin-Anta and his team of assembly members to adopt means of reinforcing the Revenue Mobilization system of the assembly to facilitate the socio-economic growth of the Metropolis.

According to the CCAT members, the Tamale Metropolis could avert its underdeveloped and low economic status and catch up with her sister metropolitan assemblies in the country, only when it begins to generate revenues internally to support the little assistance from the central government.

The association also recommended Amin-Anta’s administration to provide adequate streetlights for the various entering points in Tamale to stabilize some of the avoidable criminal acts in the metro. It also called on the office of the MCE to complete the Assembly Hall Complex and other abandoned projects of the assembly.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the President of CCAT, Alhassan Basharu Daballi to commend Mr. Amin-Anta on behalf of the people of Tamale for conducting himself well to unite the assembly members for massive votes and support.

The CCAT members also thanked President Kufuor for appointing Amin-Anta as the solution to the problems of the people in the Tamale Metro. The statement therefore challenged the MCE to exploit all the available avenues and resources to ensure that there was absolute peace, unity, tranquility and development which amongst other things had eluded the area for some years now.

“The good people of the Tamale Metropolis have proven to the whole nation especially their critics that after all they are respecters of rule of law and are people with principles. Another promising era has dawn on the metropolis with the confirmation of Mohammed Adam Amin-former Deputy Northern Regional Minister as MCE. We therefore take this opportunity to congratulate him for winning the hearts of the people, and we also express our profound gratitude to the President of this Republic for given the youth in this part of the country the opportunity to showcase their God giving leadership qualities. Tamale now has the most youngest MCE and Presiding Member in the country,” the statement said.

Mr. Daballi and his members appealed to the people to assist Mr. Amin-Anta and his administration to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.

In a similar development, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Wing in the Northern Region has also congratulated the Assembly members of the Tamale Assembly for exhibiting high sense of nonpartisan and maturity in confirming the President’s nominee for the position of MCE for Tamale, Amin-Anta.

This was also contained in a press release signed by one of the NPP youth activists, Alhaji Ibrahim Kaleem and issued to the press in Tamale. They entreated Mr. Amin-Anta to comport himself and embrace all advises, suggestions and views of the citizenry irrespective of their political or tribal lines.
