Water Shortage
The Ministry of Finance and the ING Bank of the
Netherlands have signed a loan agreement for more than 21 million Euros to start the
Tamale Water Project.

According to the Finance Minister Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu the project would bring relief
to the people of Tamale, which has suffered irregular and inadequate water supply for
years.

When the project is completed, the water pumping station in Tamale will produce 61,000
cubic meters of water daily to meet the projected water demand of the city from 2020 and
beyond.
