Mr Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the District Chief Executive of the West Gonja District in the Savannah region has appealed to all Assembly members to come together and concentrate on development issues that would benefit the people.

He said, "Let us remember that the common agenda we have is the eradication of poverty, hunger, violent conflict and diseases among our people and this can only be achieved if we unite and focus on issues that will bring development to our people".

The District Chief Executive of the West Gonja District Assembly Ms. Jambia Alhasan has said that the composition of the Assembly satisfies the requirement of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) which demands that 30 per cent of the members of the Assembly should be females.

She at a meeting with the Assembly Members at Damango in the Northern region. The 31-member Assembly is made up of 13 females of which eight were elected and 18 males.
