Two persons suspected to be the orchestrators of a communal violence that broke out between Konkombas and Fulanis at Zabzugu in the Northern region have been arrested by police and military personnel patrolling the troubled villages.

The two whose identity have been concealed for now by the police were arrested at their homes following an intelligence gathered by the security in the ongoing investigation into the clashes.

Barring any last minute changes, an incarcerated radio presenter in Tamale, Nuhu Abu-Hassan popularly known as DJ Maestro is expected to be released from Prison today Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

The former Drive Time Host of Tamale-based Zaa radio was in 2015 jailed by a Tamale Circuit Court Presided over His Honour Senyo Amedahe to four years in prison for defrauding by false pretences.

Grapevine sources indicate that he is likely to land a job as a presenter of one of the radio stations within the Tamale Metropolis upon his release later today though management of the station is tight-lipped over the matter.

A man believed to be in his late 20s is battling for his life after being subjected to gruesome machete attacks at Nyankpala in the Northern Region for allegedly stealing a sheep.

The man, identified only as Wahab, a local, was found Tuesday morning near the Avnash Rice Company on the Nyankpala road in a pool of blood with several deep machete wounds on his body, particularly on his head and hands.

An eyewitness said at the time of his discovery, the victim was palpitating intermittently.

Dojie Kwame, 28 and Akwasi Obio, 21 – both students of Tamale Technical University – have been arrested by the Tamale police for the murder of Pastor Rev. Ocran Ebenezer, head of End Time Bible Believers Fellowship at Kumbiyili near Malshegu in Tamale.

The deceased pastor, 64, and native of Takoradi, was allegedly hit with an object and killed on the spot by the suspects.

The body of the deceased pastor has since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation.

Two police officers have been left with severe injuries in Tamale after some armed military men attacked them while at post in a suspected reprisal attack Monday, March 26,2018.

The military men allegedly arrived on the streets of the city and attacked a uniform wearing police officer at a busy junction near the Agric Development Bank on the Tamale-Bolga road.

The officer was on his way to the bank when the attackers clobbered him down from a motorbike and subjected him to merciless beatings.

The Accra Central District Court has committed the 14 people accused of killing Major Maxwell Adam Mahama at Denkyira Obuasi to stand trial for murder at the High court. The accused persons are William Baah, the Assemblyman of Denkyira Obuasi; Bernard Asamoah alias Daddy; Kofi Nyarko aka Abortion; Akwasi Baah; Kwame Tuffour; Joseph Appiah Kubi; Michael Anim and Bismarck Donkor.

Others are John Bosie; Akwasi Baah; Charles Kwaning; Emmanuel Badu; Bismarck Abanga and Kwadwo Anima.

The Matron of the Buipe Senior High School (SHS) in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region has been granted police enquiry bail for allegedly stealing foodstuff belonging to the school.

The matron, Madam Rahinatu Alidu was arrested together with a driver and the mate of a Sangyong mini bus with registration number AW 3864-13 which was transporting the foodstuff allegedly stolen from the school.
