A retired educationist, Dr Musah Yamba, popularly known as ‘Gomna Bumbeo’ has initiated a move to depose the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nalerigu/Gambaga in the North East Region.

Dr Yamba last week filed his nomination documents for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming parliamentary primary in the area.

He is not the only person who wants to depose Hajia Alima Mahama as two others, Peter Wuni Bagah and Mohammed Sampah have also filed to contest.

Dr Yamba plans to change, transform and propel the NPP to victory in the December general elections in the area.

After filing his nomination, he told the constituents it had gotten to a time where there was the need for a paradigm shift in the style of leadership and the baton given to new and experienced hands such as his.

He said as a leader, he was not going to be biased and will recognise the efforts of hardworking members who play pivotal roles in party activities and growth.

“There is certainly going to be a dramatic paradigm shift in leadership style if I get the nod to lead the party as the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency. My leadership style would be informed by my conviction that party executives, from the electoral areas to the constituency level, and ardent party faithful must be recognised and rewarded bountifully if the great NPP is to evolve into the greatest political party we all envision”.

Dr Yamba is a retired educationist. He was the Principal of Dambai College of Education from 2011-2019 and served as the District Director of the Ghana Education Service in Akatsi.

He also served as headmaster of Krachi Senior High School and Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School and Assistant Headmaster of Navrongo Senior High School and Nalerigu Senior High School.

He holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree from The King of Kings Bible College and Seminary, an affiliate to the King of Rescue Mission Theological Seminary of the USA and holds a Master Degree in Education Administration from the University of Cape Coast, Bachelor in Education from the University College of Education, Diploma in Physical Education from the Specialist Training College, Winneba and Teacher’s Certificate “A” from the St. John Bosco Training College, Navrongo.
