The Minister for Business Development, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, has presented 30 tricycles to the regional communicators, constituency executives and other groups in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region.
The tricycles, valued at GH¢100,000, are to enable the NPP in the region to reach out to party supporters to explain government policies and programmes to them.
Dr Awal, who made the presentation in Tamale yesterday, said the tricycles would also help the beneficiaries to earn some income to enhance their activities in the region.
He entreated the party communicators and constituency executives to intensify their outreach programmes in the area and urged the party faithful to educate the people on government policies such as the free senior high school programme, planting for food and jobs, entrepreneurship and industrialisation.
He explained that as a result of prudent policy measures undertaken by the government, the macroeconomic environment had been stabilised, adding that the government’s focus was to transition from stability to growth.
He called on the party faithful to remain united behind President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP government to ensure victory in next year’s general election.
The Northern Regional Communications Director of the NPP, Mr Sule Salifu, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked Dr Awal for the gesture and urged other government officials to emulate the example of the Minister for Business Development by supporting the various party structures to deliver on their mandate.
