President Nana Akufo-Addo has showered praises on the late President of the 3rd Republic, Dr Hilla Limann.
Mr Akufo-Addo, who participated in the 20th anniversary of the death of Dr Limann shortly after his arrival from Liberia on Tuesday, January 23, described the former People’s National Convention (PNC) leader as “one of the historic figures of modern Ghana, an illustrious son of the Upper West Region”.
According to him, Dr Limann “led a full and varied life”.
“Ill-fated as his presidency was, he died with the reputation and memory of a decent, honest, patriotic man, who did his best to overcome considerable odds,” he added in a post on his Facebook Wall.
Meanwhile, wife of the late ex-president, Dora Fulera Limann has said that she never regrets marrying a politician who would later become President of Ghana. She said the late diplomat and scholar exposed her to exciting but challenging experiences.
Speaking at the 20th anniversary in Accra, the former First Lady said although there were difficult moments when her late husband decided to lead the Peoples National Party (PNP), they stood against all odds to attain higher heights devoid of corruption.
